During the last school week I had, it was time for me to present my research from my assessments. It was one of the four major speeches that were presented in the ISM course. It was a difficult experience that I learned a lot from. When it came to creating the presentation slides and my script, I learned that it is essential to create a plan on what should be in each slide and what all concepts need to be covered. Instead of completing a detailed script, it is easier and more beneficial for me to just list out key points and the order of them, so I know what to talk about and do not have anything to memorize. It is also important to make sure to practice going through the entire presentation and timing myself to ensure that I will stay within the time frame. I wish I had finished the presentation earlier so that I could have spent more time practicing for the actual speech. I felt unprepared talking in front of the class. Now, I know how to properly prepare for the research presentation. Actually doing the research presentation was challenging and I went overtime on my speech. I realized the importance of simplifying what I am saying and speaking more clearly. Through this experience, I have already become a better public speaker.
