New Possibilities

My entire focus this week was on finding professionals that could possibly be my mentors.

I started by calling professionals since I had great luck last semester with calls. I ended up getting a response to one of the voicemails I left and I scheduled a virtual interview with her during the week. It had been months since my last interview so I needed to review the process such as the requirement to fill out the travel form. I had originally forgotten about that step, but thankfully I checked to make sure I was doing everything preparation wise correctly. I also needed to make interview questions again for this professional which caused me to look back at old questions I generated for other professionals. While looking at the format of those questions, I was able to create new ones with different purposes since this interview is geared towards mentorship and getting to know the professional. During the interview, I was able to review the behaviors and tone that I needed to use to remind myself to be professional and respectful. This interview was a good refresher on how to speak to professionals. I am grateful this interview went well. The only follow back I need to do is schedule another interview since I needed more time with her. Additionally, I was also able to find two more professionals willing to meet up for an interview which is exciting for me. I can’t wait to meet all these professionals and expand my network.
